To start things off you will need to link your wallet to the COIN app which has to be ERC20 compatible. You can use either MetaMask, Trust Wallet or any other ERC20 wallet with browser support. In this tutorial we will walk you through on how to setup a Trust Wallet and link it to COIN app.
Installing Trust Wallet
First, you will need to go to https://trustwallet.com and download the Trust Wallet to your mobile device. Once you have downloaded/Installed the app you will be ready for the next step which is creating your wallet.
Creating Your Trust Wallet
Now you are ready to create your wallet. Open the Trust Wallet app and select Create Wallet. Go through the steps it tells you on the screen. Make sure to keep your seed that it gives you in a location in which no one can get their hands on it. With the seed anyone will be able to restore the wallet if for any reason you lost the wallet on your mobile device. Once your wallet is created you will have some tabs on the bottom of the app called “Wallet, DApps, DEX, and Settings” for Android platform and “Broswer, Wallet, Transactions, and Settings” for Apple platform. For this tutorial we are only looking at the DApps or Browser tab depending on the type of mobile device you are using.
Connecting the COIN app to your Trust Wallet
Once you have created your wallet in the Trust app you will be able to start the process of linking the COIN app to your Trust Wallet. Depending on what type of device you are using (Android or Apple) you will need to follow the directions below for your mobile device.
Android Mobile Device
In the Trust app location and tap on DApps from the bottom of the Trust app. Next, you will see a search box on the top of the screen. Here you will need to enter in the following URL: https://my.coinapp.co/verify. Once the page loads you will see a button called, “Sign”. You may have to sign into your account to be able to see the “Sign” button. If you are new to COIN you will need to see the next section below on how to get a COIN account. Once you see the “Sign” button all you will need to do is tap on the “Sign” button and it will start the magic of linking your wallet to the COIN app. You will be prompted a message that says, “Sign Message”. When you see this tap OK. If all goes well you will get a message letting you know the verification was successful. Once you see this message you have successfully linked your wallet to the COIN app.
Apple Mobile Device
Currently at the time of this article being created, Trust app doesn't support dApp browser. You will need to download Coinbase Wallet on you iOS device. Once installed, you will tap the middle button on the bottom bar and navigate to https://my.coinapp.co/verify. Once the page loads you will see a button called, “Sign”. You may have to sign into your account to be able to see the “Sign” button. If you are new to COIN you will need to see the next section below on how to get a COIN account. Once you see the “Sign” button all you will need to do is tap on the “Sign” button and it will start the magic of linking your wallet to the COIN app. You will be prompted a message that says, “Sign Message”. When you see this tap OK. If all goes well you will get a message letting you know the verification was successful. Once you see this message you have successfully linked your wallet to the COIN app.
Checking your HODL rewards in the COIN app and collecting rewards
Once you have linked your wallet to the COIN app you will be able to collect HODL rewards in the COIN app. To do this you will need to open the COIN app. If you are new to COIN you can use this signup link which will earn you a reward of 1,000 XYO. https://coin.onelink.me/ePJg/897fab86 The signup link will walk you through the process of installing the COIN app on your mobile device and as well signing up to get a COIN account. The 1,000 XYO reward could change in the future if for any reason COIN no longer has this promotion.
Once you are ready open the COIN app and once the app signs you into your account you will see a button in the top right corner of the screen. This is called the “Account” button. In the Account feature you will be able to Earn more XYO by utilizing the features in this menu and as well check your account details. Currently for this tutorial we will be looking at the HODL rewards. To check this feature out you will need to tap on “Earn More” button and then the “HODL Rewards” button. In the HODL Rewards feature you will be able to check out your verified addresses. These are the addresses in which you linked to your ERC20 wallet. You will also be able to check out how much XYO you have in your wallet and as well the COIN app. As an FYI the COIN app is not an wallet address. COIN doesn’t act as an wallet at this time but this could change in the future if the XY Network decides to allow you to use the COIN app as an wallet. Since the COIN app is not an wallet you will be able to keep your XYO in your COIN account for 1 year. Afterwards, you will be required to move your XYO tokens to your wallet as you will not be able to collect any more XYO tokens until you have moved your tokens to a wallet. Remember the wallet has to be verified to withdrawal your XYO tokens.
To collect your HODL rewards all you will need to do is go into the COIN app under the HODL rewards feature and tap the Collect button but before you can tap the Collect button the Daily Reward count down will need to say you can collect your rewards. If you can collect it will tell you how long you have until you can collect your rewards. Currently at the time of writing this tutorial the collect time will be 7:00 PM.
