Updated: Aug 10, 2020

This how-to guide should work for most banks as long they do not block crypto currency transactions.

Currently at the time of this article post XYO supports to pairs which is 'BTC/XYO' and 'ETH/XYO'. This means if you have either BTC or ETH Crypto you will be able to purchase XYO.

Let's start the how-to guide. In this example we are going to use Coinbase because fees is currently lower than what KuCoin will charge you. At the time of this post if you purchase directly on KuCoin it will cost you at-least $50 because this is the lowest amount of purchase on KuCoin and on top of this you will be charged a $10 fee. Coinbase doesn't have any limit of amount you are limited to and the fee is usually around $1-2.

DISCLAIMER: IN THIS GUIDE WE WILL BE WALKING YOU THROUGH ON HOW TO TRANSFER FUNDS FROM ONE WALLET TO ANOTHER WALLET. IF FOR ANY REASON YOU DON'T COPY THE WALLET ADDRESS AS INSTRUCTED IN THIS GUIDE YOU COULD LOSE YOUR CRYTO ASSET. YOU NEED TO MAKE SURE YOUR ADDRESS IS CORRECT BEFORE ACCEPTING THE TRANSFER.

WITH THIS BEING SAID I CAN'T BE HELD RELIABLE FOR ANY ACTIONS TAKEN THAT CAUSED YOU LOSE YOUR CRYPTO ASSET. BE CAREFUL IS TRANSFERRING ASSETS FROM ONE WALLET TO ANOTHER.

NOTE: Coinbase bank transfers could take a few days to go through. This isn't common in most cases but could happen to new accounts.

Guide to purchase XYO crypto

  1. Go to your APP store and download Coinbase. You can as well visit https://www.coinbase.com/mobile and download the app.

  2. Once you have Coinbase installed let's add your bank.

  3. Open Coinbase and let's add bank. You can add PayPal, debit card or any other available resources to add funds.

  4. Tap on Settings in bottom right corner of the screen then tap on "Add a payment method".

5. Next, select bank account or another method of payment account. Each option will have it's own step-by-step walk-through. Make sure to follow onscreen prompts until account has been added. Once added you will see your account listed under Link Accounts in Settings.

6. Now, you should have a new account added to Coinbase. Next, you are ready to purchase crypto.

7. Tap on the blue circle on the bottom of the coinbase app.

8. Tap 'Buy'.

9. Choose ETH or BTC. For this how-to guide I will be using ETH.

10. Add amount you would like to purchase and make sure your payment account has been selected. Once everything looks okay to you tap 'Preview Buy'.

11. Next, you will need to confirm the purchase. You can do this by tapping on 'Buy Now'.

12. In the next few seconds you should have ETH or the selected crypto in your Coinbase wallet. With the crypto now being in your wallet you are ready to continue to the next step to transfer over to KuCoin to purchase XYO. Just an reminder XYO only supports BTC and ETH Crypto Currency.

13. In the next step we will need to get your wallet address on KuCoin. The best method to do this is by using the KuCoin mobile app which is what I am going to be using in this example.

14. If you don't have KuCoin installed on your device you can do this by going to https://www.kucoin.com/download and download the app. Once app has been installed proceed to next step.

15. If you are new to KuCoin it will take you through a few steps to create your account. Please follow the on-screen prompts until your account has been created.

16. Once your account has been created you will be ready to get your wallet address. In this example we will be using a ETH wallet address. To get your address you will need to tap on 'Assets' on the bottom right corner of your screen.

17. Next, you will need to tap on 'Deposit'.

18. In the next screen you will be viewing all your available wallets. To make the process a lot easier for this example we are going to search for your ETH wallet. When found you will see ETH Ethereum. Once you see this tap on it and you will be sent to your ETH wallet.

19. Your ETH wallet address will always start with Zero X then a series of numbers and letters. Make sure you always copy the address and not type it one character at a time. Reason being if you typed the wrong letter, wrong number or forgot a character in your address during your crypto transfer then your crypto will either be burned or lost to someone else's wallet. It is very important your address is correct before your transfer.

20. Click on 'Copy Address'. Make SURE this is your ETH wallet address before continuing to next step.

21. Go back to Coinbase app.

22. Select the blue circle on the bottom of the app.

23. Next, tap 'Send'.

24. Next, you will select the amount of Crypto you want to transfer. I will be transferring ETH to my KuCoin wallet. You can either tap 'SEND ALL' and it will send all available ETH you have in your Coinbase account or you can enter in the amount of ETH you want to transfer. You can as well tap on the two arrows next to ETH and it will ask you in $ how much you want to transfer. Once you have selected the amount you want to transfer you can continue by tapping on 'Continue'.

25. Next, you will need to paste in your KuCoin wallet. You can do this by long holding on the address box. An option should display asking you if you want to paste text. Please triple check the To address and make sure it matches your KuCoin ETH wallet address. When you are for sure the address is correct continue by tapping on 'Continue'.

26. In the next section you will be asked to confirm the transfer. Please take your time and make sure everything looks okay before confirming the transaction. When you are ready tap on 'Send Now'.

27. This next step could take some time as you wait for miners to confirm your transaction. Once confirmed, KuCoin should alert you letting you know your transaction is complete.

28. When you are ready and the transfer is complete, you are ready to continue. You can confirm the transfer by going into KuCoin and navigating over to Assets. In the below example you can see I have $22.48 in my ETH wallet. Once you see the amount in your wallet you are ready to purchase XYO.

29. Before you can purchase XYO you will need to make sure ETH is ready for trading. You will need to move your ETH asset over to Trading by completing the next step.

30. Tap on Transfer.

31. Select ETH from the list. Could be easier to locate by typing in ETH.

32. Next you will be asked to move your asset from Main Account to Trading Account and the amount you want to transfer. I normally just tap on 'All'. Once you have done this tap 'Confirm'.

33. Now you are ready to go into the Market and start your trading for XYO. Tap on 'Markets' on the bottom of the KuCoin app.

34. You should see the above image. Next, you need to search for XYO. To do this tap on the search icon on the top right corner of the screen and type XYO in the search box. Next you will have an option to add favorites by tapping on the star. This allows you to locate the selected pair at ease by tapping on 'Favorites' in the above image. Once you are ready tap on 'XYO/ETH' to start your purchase of XYO by using ETH. BTC can be used by selecting 'XYO/BTC'.

35. Now you will see the 'XYO/ETH' pair and it's chart. If you planned carefully you can use the chart to buy low to earn you more XYO in your purchase. When you are ready tap on 'Buy'.

36. Below you will see some outline boxes. The red box is current market value. Use this if you want to buy at current market prices. For this example I am buying at current market price. Next, I want to use all available ETH for the purchase. This is the blue outline box which say's 100%. Now you are ready for the purchase. Tap on 'Buy XYO' which you can see outline in orange.

37. Next it will ask you to enter in your trading password. Enter in the password and continue with purchase.

38. If all goes well you should see your purchase in 'Open Orders'. This could be so quick you may not even notice the Open Order. If order isn't listed more likely the purchase is complete and now available in your KuCoin XYO wallet which can be displayed under the Assets section in KuCoin.

39. Congratulations, you are now a proud owner of XYO. From here you can HODL it in KuCoin (not compatible with COIN app HODL rewards), transfer XYO to another wallet that is ERC-20 compatible, or sell XYO for another asset. I recommend Trust Wallet as it is one of the easiest wallets on the market that fully supports the XYO asset. Just an FYI if you do have XYO in Trust wallet you will be able to link to COIN app for HODL Rewards.

If you're interested in HODL rewards please check out my article that goes over how to link Trust Wallet to COIN app.
