Not to long ago COIN released a new feature in the COIN app called Extension Devices.

As you can see Extension Devices has introduced a new SentinelX type called NFC. You maybe asking yourself what is the difference between BLE and NFC. Well, I'm here to answer that question. Let's start with the SentinelX BLE.
SentinelX BLE

This device was introduced back when the COIN app was released to the public and allowed us to validate our location wirelessly using the SentinelX BLE. This would be an automated process as long you had Bluetooth enabled on your phone and as well had the SentinelX BLE nearby (up to 150ft).
By validating your location with coin app you are telling the app you are where you are and for validating your location the app would reward you up to 12x Geomining rewards.
SentinelX NFC

This device was introduced back in August 2020 to be used with the COIN app as a way to validate your location using wireless communication. Unlike the SentinelX BLE this device can only communicate wirelessly up to 10 cm from your phone. Depending on your phone you may have to tap the SentinelX NFC against your phone NFC Reader. The location of the NFC reader could depend on what type of phone you have. Most of the newer phones has the NFC reader built into the phone but could be either on the front side of your phone or the back of your phone. As a note not all phones isn't NFC compatible and before you decide to purchase the SentinelX NFC I would suggest completing some research on Google or your phone carrier to see if your phone is NFC compatible.
Now as for rewards go you do get rewarded for validating your location just like you do with SentinelX BLE but you also have an additional reward the BLE doesn't have which is referral reward sharing. The SentinelX NFC card has a built-in referral link that will allow a new user to scan and sign up for a COIN account. If anyone uses your referral link via SentinelX NFC you will receive 10% boost in sharing rewards which is also stackable with the 10% in Geomining rewards that they will mine in the COIN app. This means you will receive 20% rewards just for sharing the SentinelX NFC with a new user.
If your using the SentinelX NFC then it will reward you with up to 12x in Geomining rewards. Just like SentinelX BLE does.
How to scan card to download COIN app
To scan the SentinelX NFC card all you need to do is turn on your device that is NFC compatible and place the SentinelX NFC card on the NFC reader. Once your device detects the card it will open your web browser to a website to download the COIN app using your referral that has been saved to the SentinelX NFC card.
What's the difference between BLE and NFC SentinelX's?
The biggest difference between the two SentinelX's is the way the card communicates to the COIN app. With BLE you can be within 150ft to wirelessly talk to the app but as for NFC you have to physically tap or hover the NFC card a few centimeters from your phone.
The BLE and NFC does require syncing with the COIN app to get rewarded which BLE is done automatically when within range of COIN app but as for NFC you will need to rescan the NFC SentinelX every few hours which is as follows for each plan.
Basic: 4 hours
Lite: 4 hours
Plus: 8 hours
Pro: 12 hours
Master: 24 hours
Now there is a huge perk with having the SentinelX NFC which is that the card is water proof and batteryless. Unlike the SentinelX BLE you will need to replace the battery every so often (up to a year) and as well if you get the SentinelX BLE wet then there is a good chance the SentinelX BLE may not work afterwards.
If you're interested in getting a SentinelX NFC you can do so by going to https://coinapp.co/free/sentinelx/nfc
The SentinelX NFC is free to purchase but will require you to cover shipping. Shipping cost could change in cost depending on where you live but if you do live in United States the cost is $12.95.
If you're interested in getting a SentinelX BLE you can purchase them by going over to https://coinapp.co/free/sentinelx/ble
Just like the SentinelX NFC you can purchase the SentinelX BLE for free as long you cover shipping cost. This can as well depend on where you live but can say if you live in United States it will cost $12.95.
Both devices are unique and has there own cons and pros. If you're someone that doesn't want to replace batteries and doesn't mind physical scanning the NFC card then the SentinelX NFC is the best option for you but if you're someone that can't handle having to physically scan the card and don't mind changing batteries when needed then the SentinelX BLE is the best option for you.
