One of the features you can use in the coin app to earn COIN is the Sentinel Sharing feature. By using this feature you can lend out Sentinel's to your friends, family and/or random strangers. You maybe asking yourself what is a Sentinel and why should I lend them out? Well... I'm here to answer that question!
What is a Sentinel?
First, I will go into detail what a Sentinel is. A Sentinel is a physical device that uses Bluetooth technology and special sensors to collect data. Data in which you own and can sell to XYO. The Sentinel is binded to a mobile device and used with both the COIN app and XYO app. We will go into more detail about the XYO app on another date as this app has a huge purpose of existence. As for the coin app the Sentinel is used as a second layer of validation for GPS which is used to validate the data you collect. Reason why validation is required is because no one wants data with fake location data. For one example is Sentinel's are equipped with a temp sensor. This allows the Sentinel's to send temp data to XYO along the location in which the temp was captured.
Now you know more about Sentinel's let's go into detail on how to use the Sentinel sharing feature and why you should lend out Sentinel's.
One of the biggest purpose to lend out Sentinel's is to grow the COIN user base but that isn't really important to the end user or is it? Growing the user base allows COIN to support the app and develop even better features. Features in which you can utilize and possibly even earn more COIN. Over the past year of seeing the user base grow I've seen a lot and I do mean a lot of improvements. Okay, enough about the user base. Now let's talk about the perks of using Sentinel sharing. By sharing out your Sentinel you will be able to earn 10% of what the other person mines while having your Sentinel within range of the miners mobile phone while they are mining in the COIN app. Each day the user uses your Sentinel with the COIN app will allow you to collect Geodrops that is sent to your account at the end of the day. At the time of writing this the Geodrop occurs at 8pm EST. Also, they're no limitation of how many Sentinel's you lend out using the Sentinel Sharing feature. If you plan this well you can earn a good amount of COIN while your Sentinel is being used.

How to use Sentinel Sharing
To use the Sentinel Sharing feature you will need a Sentinel in which isn't already shared out. Once you have an available Sentinel you are ready to continue with sharing out the Sentinel. Next you get into the Sentinel Sharing feature you will either need a XYO Bridge (must be within range of the bridge which registering your Sentinel) or paid COIN plan. If you have either a paid COIN plan or XYO Bridge you can continue with below instructions. If not, you will need to purchase the XYO bridge or DIY a Bridge or purchase one of the available COIN plans.

If you have met the above requirements it's now ready to share out your Sentinel.
To share out your Sentinel follow the following steps.
In the coin app tap the + sign in top right corner of screen.
Tap referral rewards.
Tap Sentinel Sharing.
Tap Add.
Next it will ask you to tap the XY button on your Sentinel twice. This will be a button on one of the corners of the Sentinel marked with XY.
Once you have tapped the button twice the Next button will display in green. If it does tap the Next button. If not, tap the XY button twice again.
Now, it will ask your to personalize the Sentinel. Select the color you want to use found in Step 2. Ideally you will use the color of the Sentinel but it's not required.
Next you will need to either name the Sentinel or give it a location. Complete one of the two in Step 3.
Once you have completed Step 3 then you are ready to complete the final step which is to tap the Done button.
If you have successfully setup the Sentinel Sharing for your Sentinel you will see something like this.

Something else to mention if you do use the location Sentinel Sharing you will be able to earn COIN when anyone comes into range of your Sentinel. By using this feature you can place the shared Sentinel anywhere as long it's in a dry cool location. This is one of the features I highly use as I have placed Sentinel's around my home and office. That way when miners come into range of the Sentinel while mining I will collect 10% of what they are mining. When using this feature and placing in locations please make sure you don't place in hot locations. Reason why is because the batteries could explode due to exposure to high temperatures.
